Over a cup of tea…
March 11, 2013
If we were chatting over a cup of tea this morning, I’d still be glowing after a fabulous book club meeting last night. The food was fantastic, the company was – as always – the best, and we picked a new book for March that I fully endorse. And, I just debuted my latest brain-wave idea, modeled after the similar Chapters Indigo gimmick: the “Julia’s Pick” seal of approval. So excited.
If we were chatting over a cup of tea, I would be raving about the dinner My Other Half and I had for our fifth anniversary this weekend. We went to the new hotspot Union 613 for some southern fare. Boy, was it good! I’ve figured out in order to be successful in the restaurant industry, you need to differentiate yourselves, and Union definitely did this. All the dishes were original, but at the same time authentic. And the cocktails! I was blown away. I think it is a much-needed addition to Ottawa.
If we were chatting over a cup of tea, I’d be super pumped about my most recent 5km run time – 29:56! My personal best from last summer is 29:29, so I am really close. According to my Nike iRun app, my 5km personal best is 28:15, but I think that’s off. Anyway, getting under 30 minutes (just barely) was a huge feat! It’s amazing what I can do when I really push myself.
If we were chatting over a cup of tea this morning, I’d tell you how much I love the show Shameless on HBO. A co-worker recommended it to me and I have seen every episode to date. It’s a little offside sometimes, but overall it’s entertaining, hilarious and real. I highly recommend it!
