Sparkling White Sangria

Hot days call for cold drinks. It’s not rocket science.

Sparkling White Sangria

I wish the weather was better in Ottawa these days…but it’s not. So when we get a hot, sunny Saturday, we milk it for all it’s worth. That means good tunes, cocktails and an unputdownable book.

We took a break from the slushy drinks this weekend and tried this refreshing white sangria. It’s  delicious and nutritious, not to mention pretty. Loved adding apple!

Sparkling White Sangria

  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 750 ml sparkling white wine
  • 500ml sparking citrus pop (7up or other)
  • Ice cubes

  1. De-seed all the fruit and place in a pitcher with sugar and salt. Mash the fruit with a muddler. Add brandy and wine and stir. Refrigerate (ice can be added by the glass or directly in the pitcher).
