Honey & Herb Goat Cheese Dip

There are countless (literally countless) things I adore about my book club.

Allow me to try and make a list for you:

  1. The people. My girlfriends (who are almost all book club members) are so fun, beautiful and intelligent it’s mind-blowing.
  2. The books. Obviously I adore reading and want to quit life and do nothing but escape in fabulous novels every day, all day.
  3. The wine. Self-explanatory.
  4. The food. There are two parts to this – I love eating all the amazing food everyone brings, but I also love making something nifty and new every month. My book club doubles as my giant guinea pig.

I made this goat cheese dip for a recent book club meeting and it was really good. Different than your average dip, which I liked. I sliced a ton of apples to dip with it, in contrast to most cheese dips that require chips, crackers or pita wedges.

One mistake – I doubled this recipe. Bad idea. You can only consume so much goat cheese before you get sick of it. So, lesson learned – don’t do it.

But otherwise… highly recommend it.

Honey & Herb Goat Cheese Dip


  • 1 pkg (140 g) goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh green onions
  • 1/4 cup toasted almonds, chopped
  • 4 apples, cored and thinly sliced


  1. Mix together goat cheese, yogurt, honey and pepper. Stir in basil and chives. Scrape into serving dish and sprinkle with almonds. To stop apples from browning, place in cold water with 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Drain when ready to serve dip.
