In my language, Friday means TREAT DAY!
Today I’m sharing a recipe that my entire family has been making for YEARS. I grew up eating these!
As I’ve mentioned before, my mother gave me hand-written recipe cards of all the family favourites as part of my wedding shower gift. It was super special, and slowly but surely I am making my way through the recipes, trying all the ones I haven’t made myself before. I’ve had these addiction bars a million times, but had never made them myself! My Other Half was so happy – he loves them.
These Addition Bars actually come from my aunt JoJo, who got the recipe from an acquaintance a very long time ago. They’re so simple (just four ingredients!), quick and easy, and seriously addictive. In two days, My Other Half and I ate an entire sheet of them! I’m kinda proud but probably shouldn’t be.
The thing is… you just can’t stop eating them. Like, you really can’t stop. They’re THAT good. Believe me.
Your friends and family will love you forever if you make these. That’s a fact.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 24 graham crackers (enough to fill your baking sheet)
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a small pot, melt butter with brown sugar and boil for about 4 minutes, until it begins to thicken a bit, stirring continuously. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray lightly with cooking spray. Cover the base of the baking sheet completely with graham crackers (break them up if you need to, to fill in gaps). Pour the hot butter/brown sugar mixture over the graham cracker to completely coat, and sprinkle the almonds evenly over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes, and then cut with a sharp knife while still hot. Do not refrigerate. Store in an airtight container.
