Picking my favourite ten recipes this year was SO HARD! Which is why this post is a tad late.
I originally made list with 22 of my favourite recipes… and had a really tough time narrowing it down. For the first time, though, the most popular recipes coincided with my favourites quite a bit. Normally what takes off on the blog is completely different from what I obsess over.
As always, I’ve provided a couple sentences on why I love these recipes so much. Remember you can see all my favourite recipes from past years on the FAQ page!
1. One-Pan Cheesy Spicy Sausage Pasta
This was easily my #1 favourite recipe in 2015 because I could not stop making it! I seriously made it every second night for two weeks straight. To die for! It’s so cheesy and addictive. You have to try it!
2. The Best Chopped Summer Salad
We ate this at almost every single meal all summer long! It was the perfect weeknight meal, and the perfect side for BBQing on the weekends. Regardless of the season, this is one of my favourite salads of all time.
I have to thank my friend Laura for this recipe! I crave this bruschetta all the time. There’s nothing like it! Slather anything in mayo and cheese and you have my whole heart. Others must love it too because every time I make it, it vanishes in record time! Even my girlfriend who doesn’t like olives will eat it.
4. Chewy Chocolate & Skor Peanut Butter Cookies
And this recipe comes from my friend Sarah! She started making these cookies when she was eating gluten-free, but they’re so darn good you would never know there is no flour in them. They’re dangerous though – you can’t just eat one!
5. Pumpkin Gnocchi with Brown Butter, Crispy Sage & Parmesan
I made this recipe up as I went and it turned out to be my favourite pumpkin dish EVER! How can you go wrong with brown butter and crispy sage? The homemade gnocchi is a bit of work, but completely worth it.
6. Fried Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing
These wings blew my mind – and I’m not even a chicken wing kind of girl! The blue cheese sauce and buffalo combination is out of this world. I’ll be making these wings for years to come.
A childhood favourite from my auntie JoJo! These are called Addiction Bars because once you try them, you’re immediately hooked. My Other Half and I consume the entire baking sheet of them in one day, every single time. So simple to make, too!
8. Cinnamon & Sugar Pull Apart Bread
Worth the work and the wait! To me, this pull apart bread is even better than homemade cinnamon rolls. Imagine if you drizzled on some icing too?! It’s a fair bit of work, but I’d do it 50 times over for this deliciousness.
My friend Bronwen first made this salmon for me, many years ago, and I never forgot it! Re-creating it was one of my better ideas this past year. Healthy, flavourful and moist. LOVE this salmon!
I will never try another ginger cookie recipe again, because nothing can compare. Any time of year, these are in my top three cookies of all time. They’re the definition of chewy! I just love them, and they remind me of my Mama’s wonderful baking, so they feel like home.
